Hudson Health Recognized
Hudson, together
with other premier organizations and businesses, was presented a
Proclamation from the Wicomico County Council and an Honor Certificate
from the Maryland Court of Appeals for community service. Hudson was
specifically cited for its contribution in assisting Drug Court
participants in areas including; employment, housing, health, legal and
financial. A ceremony was held
in the Ceremonial Courtroom of the Wicomico County Circuit Court with a
luncheon immediately following. Cherie Meienschein, Drug Court
Coordinator, stated “Our program cannot thank you enough for your time
and commitment and we are so pleased that we have established this
partnership.”

Hudson Listens
To Our Customers Hudson Health
responded to a downward trend in Managed Care last fall by contacting lost
providers and asked, “What’s wrong, why aren’t you referring clients to us
now? The Response: They were being
transferred to voice mail and couldn’t talk with a live person; Admissions
couldn’t be made outside of regular business hours; and Hudson was looking
for the ‘ideal patient.” The remedy: A day call menu was
opened, 24-hour admissions began, and admission criteria were widened. Today
callers are guaranteed of talking with a Hudson staff member. Staff contacted all previous and
current client providers with news of the changes in early December. A
mid-December “surge” in Managed Care admissions was followed by continued
increases in census. |
Hudson Heroes
Alcoholism and substance abuse are national problems and the Lower Shore is
equally vulnerable, resulting in job loss, marital breakups, family crises,
personal illness and even death. Hudson Health Services is doing
something about this problem that threatens the daily lives of hundreds on
Delmarva, at home, in the workplace, and in all aspects of our daily
lives. We have created a “Heroes Club” that permits member of our community
to contribute to this cause.
$70 offsets the shortfall we sustain on one day’s treatment for the indigent
and $1,500 does the same for a complete 21 day program at our Salisbury
facility. During the last year we met our goal and we look forward to
increased participation in the future. Please look for our next request.

Graduation Day One of our residents in the Walnut
Street House recently graduated from “Drug Court” at a ceremony held at
Wor-Wic Community College. We are very proud of her efforts and she was
recently “promoted” to Senior Resident at the House. We have other
participants in this program which keeps individuals out of jail, clean and
sober and active members of our community. |
